MORSE CODE Series Premiere screening August 1 at the Basement in Nashville.

MORSE CODE, a new scripted web series by longtime East Nashville singer-songwriter Korby Lenker, premieres August 3rd at 10am CST on Vimeo and Youtube.

Advance screening August 1st at the Basement (original location on 8th ave S) is free to public 21+ and will feature performances by Nora Jane Struthers and Korby Lenker.

Premiere of MORSE CODE will be accompanied by release of new single ‘If You Love Somebody’, penned and performed with Liz Longley.

MORSE CODE is a new web series created by Korby Lenker about a smart-but-dumb folk musician dreamchasing his way through the modern music business. Starring Lenker, Sara Antonio (House of Cards, Other Versions of You), Oliva Evans (Nashville), newcomer Maggie Schneider and featuring Kenneth Pattengale (Milk Carton Kids) as himself, each six to eight minute episode charts Simon Pinkerton’s laughable odyssey of poor judgement and imagined realizations through a shifting landscape of egomaniacal rivals and neurotic managers. In the spirit of HBO’s Togetherness, MORSE CODE is a heartfelt comedy about a forgivable idiot trying to make good in music without alienating everybody around him.

MORSE CODE premiers August 3rd at 10am CST on Vimeo. There will be an advance screening Wednesday August 1st at The Basement (original location) in Nashville, at 9pm. This special engagement will feature back-to-back performances by Korby Lenker and Americana artist Nora Jane Struthers, followed by an exclusive screening of the show. The event is free to the public 21+.

Each episode of MORSE CODE will be accompanied by the release of a new original song: thus August 3rd will see the release not only of Lenker’s new scripted series, but also a new single: If You Love Somebody, out on Soundly Music (SONY/RED). Penned and performed with Sugarhill recording artist Liz Longley, If You Love Somebody is a song about finding words to match the feelings — something easier sung than done.

MORSE CODE has thus far been made possible by a crowd-funding campaign through Patreon, a subscription-based platform created for the purpose of connecting artists to the fans who wish to support their work. In exchange for a monthly pledge of $1 - 100, each subscriber receives early access to MORSE CODE episodes as well as exclusive content unavailable to the public.

Filming just wrapped for episode 2, which will premiere this September at Americanafest, with a panel featuring Lenker, Pattengale, Tim Lauer (senior music producer at CMT’s Nashville), director Nathan Edwards, as well as the cast of the show.
