Send Lewis to Normandy!

Here’s a special message from Keegan and Korby:
If you don’t want to watch the video, well it’s your loss honestly, but below is the gist of it:
Okay so our favorite man is turning 70 this year and we want to do something special.
Maybe you already know that dad’s father — our grandpa, Rudy Lenker — fought in WWII at the Battle of the Bulge in Normandy, France (for reference think of the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan).

Over the years, Dad has mentioned about a hundred times that he would love to visit Normandy and see the place which has loomed so large in our family history.
So why are we telling you this?
Well, here’s the thing: Dad has never been overseas, and it’s getting pretty hard to get him to do something he’s never done before.
But we had an idea: let’s get his friends involved, and then he’ll have to go (insert evil laughter here).
SO, we are asking for a TOKEN DONATION to this laudable cause. A small amount — 20 or 50 dollars, or less (he’ll never know the particular amount anyone donated).
Whatever the total amount raised is, we will cover the difference. It’s not about the money, it’s just a way of involving dad’s friends to build some momentum to overcome dad’s considerable inertia.
Right now the plan is to present the present to him on his birthday September 30 (it’s on zoom and you are invited, see below) with the trip slated for some time in spring of 2022. Hopefully it will be possible to travel to and from Europe then. On purpose we are keeping the details (duration, itinerary) loose, but we’re thinking it’s going to be a “Lenker men” kind of trip — Dad, Keegan, Korby, Joncee — a once in a lifetime journey to honor our forefather.
